Application
ICA will no longer accept hard copies of PR application forms from applicants. This will include the ones submitted through Overseas Missions.
All PR applications will only be accepted through the e-PR system.
Non-Singaporeans may be eligible to apply for permanent residency if you are a/an:
Spouse of a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident (PR)
Unmarried child aged below 21 years old, born within the context of a legal marriage to, or have been legally adopted by, a Singapore citizen or PR
Aged parent of a Singapore citizen
Holder of an Employment Pass or S Pass
Student studying in Singapore
Foreign investor in Singapore

Renunciation
With effect from 4 March 2024, all Singapore Permanent Residency renunciation applications are to be made via an online application form. The form takes about 20 mins to complete.

A PR who has lost his/her PR status by remaining outside of Singapore without a valid Re-Entry Permit (REP) is not required* to apply for renunciation of PR.
*If you require a verification to prove that you are no longer a Singapore PR, you may request for a letter Request for PR Verification Letter | FormSG.
Please return your Singapore Blue Identity Card(SBIC) to the nearest Overseas Mission or via registered mail to ICA within 14 days of submitting your renunciation application:

Should you misplace your SBIC, a statutory declaration or a police report on the loss must be submitted in lieu.
Processing time
The general processing time may take up to 4 weeks from the receipt of the application. Some applications may take longer to process if ICA receives incomplete supporting documents and/or requires further clarifications with the applicants.
You will be issued with a letter of renunciation via email once your request has been processed.
